NADR PRESENTATION
Session D10: Using Continuous Quality Improvement to Sustain DSMES Programs
Kelley Moultry, MPH, MCHES, presented a working session on how continuous quality improvement (CQI) supports sustainable DSMES programs. Participants followed a case study of a diabetes education team facing a common documentation gap, then applied each concept to their own program in real time using a companion worksheet. Each attendee left with a draft quality improvement plan for their program, delivered to their inbox.
The session focused on three key areas:
-
How team-based quality improvement supports program stability
-
How to interpret program data to find areas for improvement
-
How to use that data to guide leadership decisions about staffing and services
