WEBINAR

ADCES MEMBER WEBINAR

MARCH 26, 2026

ADCES invited NADR Founder and Executive Director Kelley Moultry, MPH, MCHES, to present Continuous Quality Improvement: Leading Standard 6 With Confidence, a free live webinar offered exclusively to ADCES members. The session focused on one of the core areas of NADR's work: helping DSMES teams build practical systems for quality improvement, documentation, and long-term program sustainability.

Continuous Quality Improvement: Leading Standard 6 With Confidence

The webinar addressed how DSMES programs can approach continuous quality improvement as an ongoing part of program operations. Participants explored how to design meaningful CQI projects, use program and outcome data to identify opportunities for improvement and connect quality improvement activities to the expectations of the National Standards for DSMES.

The session also focused on moving from requirements to implementation. Rather than viewing Standard 6 as a documentation exercise, participants were encouraged to consider how their data can help teams identify gaps, make informed decisions and strengthen the systems that support their DSMES programs.

This practical approach reflects NADR's broader work with DSMES organizations. Through training, workforce development and practice support, NADR helps teams strengthen the operational infrastructure behind high-quality DSMES delivery. Continuous quality improvement is a central part of that work because sustainable programs need processes for reviewing performance, identifying opportunities for change and documenting improvement over time.

PARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE
The webinar reached an experienced audience of diabetes care and education professionals. Among evaluation respondents, 70% reported having 10 or more years of experience in diabetes care and education.
Participant feedback was strong. Among respondents, 100% were satisfied with the session and agreed that the learning goals were met. In addition, 91% reported improved knowledge or skills and 74% indicated that they planned to make changes in their practice following the webinar.

The feedback also provided insight into where DSMES professionals continue to need support. Participants identified documentation and intake charting as an area of interest for future training.

INFORMING NADR'S WORK
Participant feedback does more than evaluate an individual training. It helps NADR identify the operational challenges DSMES professionals are encountering in practice and where additional training and resources may be useful.

The interest in documentation and intake processes reinforces NADR's focus on the systems that support DSMES delivery. These are areas that can affect how programs manage referrals, maintain documentation, evaluate quality and sustain their operations over time.

NADR uses insights from trainings, workshops and professional events to inform the continued development of its educational programming and workforce initiatives. By staying connected to the professionals doing this work every day, NADR can develop training that responds to the practical needs of DSMES teams and supports stronger program infrastructure.

This ADCES member webinar provided another opportunity for NADR to contribute its expertise in continuous quality improvement while learning directly from experienced diabetes care and education professionals about the challenges they are navigating in their programs.
